William Melofchik, Esq. serves as NCOIL General Counsel.
In this role, Will serves as the Chief Advisor to NCOIL’s Officers, including the CEO, on legal, compliance, and regulatory issues, as well as an overall strategic advisor to all key senior leaders.
Additionally, Will coordinates and interacts with state legislators, regulators, industry professionals, and consumer advocates across the country to lead the development of all NCOIL National & Interim Meeting Agendas, and manage the development of NCOIL Model Laws and policy positions.
Previously, Will worked as a Regulatory Officer in the Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Unit at the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance. Will has also worked as an Associate at the law firm of Fox & Melofchik, LLC, and served as the judicial law clerk to The Honorable Paul X. Escandon at the Superior Court in Freehold, NJ.
Will is a member of the New Jersey and New York Bar, having graduated cum laude from Touro Law School, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Moot Court Honors Board. Will graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Connecticut where he was also captain of the cross-country team. Will resides in Ocean Twp., NJ, with his wife, Ashley, their son, and is an avid distance runner and cyclist.
